Police authorities in Zamfara state have arrested a 30-yr old woman, Fatima Lawali for allegedly supplying arms and ammunitions to the famous terrorists kingpin, Ado aliero.
Fatima, was arrested at a bridge along Gusau-Sokoto highway with 199 live AK47 ammunitions meant for delivery to Aliero.

The Zamfara state Police Commissioner, Mr Ayuba Elkanah, who paraded the woman said she was arrested by the police attached to Police Tactical Operatives Team while about to enter Gusau, the capital of Zamfara state.
The commissioner explained that the woman in her confessional statements, said she has been supplying arms and ammunitions to bandits in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina Kebbi, Kaduna and Niger states.
CP Elkana also said the police had during a special operation, raided terrorists enclaves across the state.

“At one of the enclaves raided by our men, police have engaged the terrorists in gun battle and unspecified numbers of bandits escaped with gunshot wounds.
“10 assorted AK-47 rifles with magazines containing 143 rounds of live ammunitions were received from the scene,” said the police commissioner.
Speaking to pressmen, the suspected arms and ammunitions supplier, Fatima said she was from Dabagi village, Sokoto for the purpose of delivering the 199 live ammunitions to Aliero in Danjibga village, Tsafe local government, Zamfara state.

Fatima, who regretted her involvement in the activities of terrorists, said “I’m regretting my involvement in the activities of terrorists. I am seeking for forgiveness from the families of those who lost their loved ones especially women like me whose husbands and children were killed by those we supplied ammunition to.
“I regretted my actions and I hope the people and government will forgive me. I promised that I will never go back to this kind of job for the rest of my life,” she said.
