Thousands of Kano residents including married women on Tuesday evening trooped out cheering and praying for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was at the Murtala Mohammed Hospital in Kano to commission the remodel Accident and Emergency wings of the facility.
The remodeling and equipping of the emergency section of the hospital was part of Governor Abba’s efforts towards improving the services of the state- owned health facilities in the state.

The residents who thronged the itinerary of the Governor’s convoy starting from State road, IBB Way, Kantin Kwari Market and to Murtala Mohammad hospital, the venue of the event, chanting solidarity songs in support of Governor Yusuf’s government.
Women from their homes also came out to welcome the Governor into the City Center of the Ancient City for the first time since after the Appeal Court Judgement praying for his success at the Supreme Court.
Traders at the Kano famous Textile Market, Kantin Kwari were also seen shouting on top of their voices calling on President Tinubu to do the needful by ensuring that justice prevail in the case of Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Supreme Court.

Speaking shortly after commissioning the facility, Governor Yusuf who was visibly elated by seeing the crowd, said the remodeling and equipping of the oldest hospital in the state became necessary looking at its dilapidated condition.
“We felt it necessary to correct the dilapidated condition of the hospital for the benefit of teaming populace that are visiting the facility, from across the West African States,” he said.
He appreciated the work done in giving the section a facelift and putting in place modern equipment for the provision of quality medical care to patients with emergency cases and accident victims.

The Governor commended the officials of the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders who contributed in making the project a reality.
On voluntary health workers assisting in the operations of the Accident and Emergency section, the Governor expressed happiness with what they are doing and directed the Commissioner of Health to come up with an initiative of reciprocating the gesture by the state government in appreciation of their sacrifices.
