The political momentum toward the 2027 general elections has officially taken root in Borno State with the launch of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
The mobilization campaign, aimed at securing a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, was unveiled in Maiduguri amidst high-profile endorsements.

Borno State holds strategic political significance as the home state of Vice President Shettima.
The grand unveiling was led by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, who was represented by his deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur, alongside several prominent chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Flagging off the campaign, Deputy Governor Kadafur declared that Borno is fully prepared to deliver massive grassroots support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket, emphasizing the state’s unwavering loyalty to the current administration.
A major highlight of the launch was the massive material support provided by the Grand Patron of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo: 44 operational vehicles, 88 speakers, 44 generators, 44 amplifiers, and 44 microphones to aid the grassroots mobilization across the state.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of party faithful, APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, urged members of the movement to take the campaign directly to the grassroots, ensuring that the message of the Tinubu administration reaches every household in the state.
Also speaking at the event, the Borno APC governorship candidate, Engineer Mustapha Gubio, lauded the federal administration for delivering the tangible dividends of democracy. He pledged the state’s continued, unalloyed support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket come 2027.
In his remarks, Tompolo’s representative, Kestin Pondi, called on the people of Borno State to heavily reciprocate President Tinubu’s confidence in their son, Vice President Shettima. He noted that the administration’s efforts in improving security in the region deserved strong backing.
“The people of Borno State should demonstrate the confidence and trust of the President in their son and for all the security gains being recorded in the state by supporting the administration and re-election in 2027,” Pondi stated.

He also commended Governor Zulum for the remarkable and visible infrastructural development transforming the state, urging the electorate to vote for the APC governorship flag bearer in the upcoming elections to ensure the seamless continuity of the administration’s achievements.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from party leaders and supporters to intensify door-to-door campaigns across the length and breadth of Borno State in anticipation of the 2027 polls
