One Killed, Another Hospitalized, As thugs Destroy Collation Center In Takai

Date:

The Kano South Senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Albdulrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila has alleged that at least one person was killed and another injured when hoodlums attacked the collation centre at Takai local government area of Kano state.

He made the disclosure at an emergency press conference on Sunday in Kano after the collated votes of the Kano South senatorial zone have placed him in the lead.

According to him, no fewer than 10 suspected hoodlums were arrested by the police after the alleged attack.

“We are waiting to see what will happen if the arrested attackers will be prosecuted,” Sumaila said.

He further accused the ruling All Progressives Congress candidate, Senator Kabiru Gaya of masterminding the attacks where the collation centre has been burnt down.

He further alleged that intelligence reports available to him showed that the same incidence is being orchestrated for Rano local government area, which is the collation Centre for the Kano south senatorial district, to disrupt collocation of the voting results.

The NNPP senatorial candidate said he had already alerted the State Director of the DSS and the State Police Commissioner on the alleged plans of some opponents in the state.

He, therefore, called on the international observers, the Media and civil society organizations, INEC and other stakeholders to be proactive and take measures to prevent the alleged plans.

However, the Public Relations Officer of the State command, SP Haruna Abdullahi had told newsmen earlier that the fire outbreak at the collation centre in Takai was caused by a generator failure.
