Network canvasses support for correctional centres’ acquisition centres

The Human rights Network of Nigeria Katsina State chapter has promised to mobilize people to equip skills aqeuisition centres in the state correctional homes.

The Katsina State Coordinator of the Network, Comrade Abdullahi Izma Yamadi gave the assurance when he led other officials on a courtesy visit to the Controller of Correctional Services, Katsina State Command, Alhaji Muhammad Abdulmumin in his office.

Comrade Yamadi said the correctional services were essential, and the Human rights Network would continue to monitor their activities and offer advices with a view to better service delivery.

He said: “There is no better time to support the correctional services than now as they remain the last destinations for the unfortunate suspects and convicts of various offences.

The coordinator called on wealthy indiciduals in the society to assist correctional centres in the areas of rehabilitation and reintegration of the convicts after serving their jail terms.

Comrade Yamadi told the controller that the Human rights Network has zero tolerance for all forms of human rights abuses, drugs abuses, human trafficking, rape and have passion for the respect for the rule of law.

Responding, the controller of the state correctional services, Alhaji Muhammad Abdulmumin, promised to partner the Human rights Network of Nigeria in providing effective service delivery.

He commended the Human rights Network of Nigeria for selfless service to the people of Katsina State, urging officials of the Network to sustain the tempo of service to humanity.
