Tinubu, Buhari To Attend APC NEC Meeting September 12–+ Ganduje

Date:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari are expected to attend the forthcoming National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress scheduled for 12th of September, 2024.

The National chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, made the disclosure while speaking to members of the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Kano council on Thursday.

He said other high ranking party officials expected at the NEC meeting include all the 21 Governors from the APC controlled states.

“We have the NEC meeting for which every quarter we are supposed to meet. So very soon, specifically on the 12th of September we will hold the NEC meeting in which Mr. President, Governors and former president will also be there.

“Also we will be approaching so many things that our national working committee has undertaken to be confirmed by the NEC meeting,” Ganduje said.

According to him, the party is also getting ready for the governorship election in Edo State on the 21st of September, 2024 which it hopes to recover from the People’s Democratic Party.

“Well I believe our campaign is with high spirit, we are getting ready for that election and we believe we will be able to recover our state because it was an APC state but because of Internal squabbles we lost it to PDP but we are sure we will recover that state.

“For Ondo state, it is already an APC state and the former governor when he died with a number of problems we were able to resolve those issues. We conducted primaries, we succeeded in getting the person that they want.

“We are also getting ready for that election which is coming up in November. If we win Edo we will be getting an additional state for the party. It will be 21 states out of 36.

The APC National chairman said the party was also working very hard to ensure that it gets more states from the southeast geopolitical zone through the introduction of what he described as a new phenomenon “the marginalisation of the Southeast geopolitical zone.

“So, we have introduced a new phenomenon which we call the political marginalisation of the southeast geopolitical zone where we are working very hard to ensure that we get more states from that zone and we want to start with Anambra next year which has been a state governed by APGA

“Already we have Ebonyi, Imo states, now we are encroaching into that zone to ensure that we capture most of the states. And if we get what we want we capture all the states,” he added.
