Senator Ibrahim Shekarau on Sunday emerged winner of the primary for Kano Central Senatorial seat under the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Shekarau, who scored 516 votes, during the primary election conducted in Gezawa local government, one of the 15 local governments that constitute Kano Central Senatorial District.

With this victory, Senator Shekarau will contest on the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party in the 2023 general elections.
