The Forum of Former and Serving members of Kano State House of Assembly, has hailed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress, describing his decision as a great blessing to the party.
The Forum also noted that the decision of the Governor and the 22 Lawmakers to join the APC is the best political development that happened to the state in recent times.

The Forum made the remarks in a statement on Tuesday by its Chairman,Yusuf Babangida Sulaiman, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
“With the defection of the Governor and the 22 state assembly members to the APC, we would now be having immense access to dividends of democracy from the Federal Government, ” he said.
He described Governor Yusuf as a God-fearing leader whose transformational strides would blend very well with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The Chairman then disclosed that stakeholders of the APC in the state led by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the state Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas, Murtala Sule Garo and the House Chairman Appropriation Committee, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, among others, have urged members of the party to regard Governor Yusuf and the 22 state assembly members as their long-time family members.
“Therefore, all APC supporters and members in the state should accord all necessary support to the Government of Kano State under Abba Kabir Yusuf and the State Assembly to enable them to succeed in their efforts to move the state forward.
He assured of the Forum’s full support and loyalty to the Government of Abba Kabir Yusuf in its commitment to making Kano great.

Recall that Governor Yusuf along with 22 State Assembly members and eight national Assembly members on Monday defected to the APC at a grand ceremony held at the Coronation Hall of Government House, Kano.
The decision taken by Governor Yusuf to defect from the NNPP to the ruling APC has continued to be a talk of the town especially among politicians some of whom considered his defection as a political suicide while others regarded his decision as a political gamble.
