The Lagos Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has endorsed Alhassan Yahya for President and Abimbola Oyetunde as Deputy President of the union.
The endorsement is sequel to the forthcoming Triennial Delegates Conference in Owerri, Imo State, in November 2024.

This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by Council’s Secretary Tunde Olalere and communique drafting committee; Jerry Aguigbo, Chizoba Anuforom, and Iyabo Aina.

The communique was issued at the end of Congress meeting of Lagos NUJ, held at the weekend.

“The Lagos Council of NUJ adopted Alhassan Yahya and Abimbola Oyetunde for the posts of President and Deputy President respectively at the forthcoming Triennial Delegates Conference scheduled for Owerri in November,” part of the statement reads.
Daily Telescope reports that the endorsement will serve as a boost to the candidacy of the Alhassan/Abimbola team following the vibrancy of the Lagos Council in the determination of past NUJ leaders.
