Katsina state House of Assembly has passed into law, four bills amended to reposition the Agricultural sector as it relates to live stock production and management.
Similarly the House has confirmed the nomination of Usman Mamman Maska and Mamman Usman Ilalla as Chairman and member of the state local government service commission respectively.

The Speaker Tasi’u Musa Maigari announced the resolution of the house during plenary.
The bills which were amended and passed into law are the meat inspection and hygiene law 2021, grazing reserve amendment bill law 2021 and control of livestock movement and prevention of farmers/herders clashes law 2021.

The bills were adopted and passed after endorsement of the recommendations of the House Committee on Agriculture which conducted scrutiny of the proposed bills in conjunction with the Justice and judiciary Committee.
Committee Chairman Suleiman Abubakar Abubakar Tunes stated that the bills aimed to facilitate provision of grazing lands and restore the cattle routs with a view to providing conducive environment for grazing as well as preventing clashes between farmers and herders.

The meat inspection and hygiene law seeks to ensure production of healthy meat for consumption while the veterinary resolution law was meant to ensure that only qualified personnel operates veterinary clinics and institutions.
The Speaker Tasi’u Musa Maigari directed the clerk to provide a clean copy of the laws to the Governor for assent.
