Kano city has continued to remain calm on Thursday as residents of the ancient city complied with the 24-hour curfew imposed on the State by the government following theTribunal judgement declaring the immediate-past Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the APC, as the winner of the March 2023 governorship election in the State.
Daily Telescope reporter who monitored the situation reports that following the curfew, human and vehicular movement have restricted within the city.

The Armed security personnel deployed to major streets and other strategic places were on ground to ensure total compliance as only vehicles conveying workers on special duties were being allowed to go to their respective places of work.
It was also observed that schools, marketplaces and all other business premises including filling stations were also closed due to the 24 hour curfew.

The curfew had forced many residents to resort to eating any available food they came across as many people were caught unawares by the curfew in view of the time the announcement was made.
A cross section of residents who spoke on the situation lamented the decision taken by the government to impose the curfew despite the current hardships being experienced by people as as result of the current economic hardship.
One of the residents and a water vendor faulted the decision to impose the curfew because according to him many people have to go out on daily basis to work before they could get what they could feed themselves and their families.

“You see the curfew has forced people to remain indoors and most of the people now adays have to go out and work before getting what to eat,” he said.
He expressed hope that the government would lift the curfew today so as not to inflict more on the people.
