Kano APC Won’t Be Discouraged By Supreme Court Judgment— Kwankwaso

Date:

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano, Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, says, the recent Supreme Court verdict on Kano governorship election will never discourage members of the party from promoting its ideologies in the state.

Reacting to the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed the victory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kwankwaso said APC faithful have accepted the verdict in good Faith.

Kwankwaso, a former Commissioner of rural and community development under Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s regime, said APC followers will remain steadfast in executing their policies and programmes in Kano.

“We, politicians are use to this kind of situation. It is normal in any election to defeat or to be defeated. We have contested election and the outcome of the election led us to Election Petition Tribunal, Appeal Court and finally Supreme Court.

“We have won at both Tribunal and Appeal Court and now we have lost the legal dispute to our political opponent, Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Supreme Court. For me, this is a normal thing and politicians are use to it.

“We have done all our best to protect our mandate but as God have it, Abba Kabir emerged victorious at Supreme Court. All praises be to God Almighty.

“The judgment will never in any way discourage us from going about with our political ideologies  and plans that will better the lives of Kano people. In fact, the verdict will rather motivate us to do more for the good people of Kano state.

“This is the beauty of politics. You will win today and lost tomorrow. APC governed Kano for eight years and there is nothing wrong if we have lost to another party today. We thanked God.
