The governor revealed that, in order to control the spread of malaria, his administration has approved the use of over 580 health facilities, deployed over 2000 health workers and provided all the financial and operational support to ensure the successful implementation of the malaria intervention campaign.

He urged residents to reduce the breeding sites of mosquitoes, saying this can be achieved “through removal of discarded containers and repairing leaking spots around houses, clearing of drainages and gutters, use of mosquito screens, repellents, insecticide sprays, and most importantly, sleeping under ITNs every night.”
