The Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has said that the fate of Nigeria remains with the interlectual minds who have the ability to turn the country around for the better.
The governor stated this at the 35th conference of the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) held at Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST) Wudil on Monday.

Ganduje, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said no nation would prosper and achieve meaningful development without giving priority to the enhancement of its educational sector.
He said for the six years of the advent of the present administration in the state, a lot have been done to develop education at the two state owned universities such as the KUST, Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano (YUMSUK) and other tertiary institutions in the state.

On the Conference, Ganduje said there was no better time to hold it than now given the theme of the Conference as capsulated ‘”Path Ways to Green Investing Creative Funding and DARQ Technologies in Nigerian Universities” in Nigerian universities.
He said, “This year’s theme was carefully chosen to address issues of sustainable growth and development of university system in Nigeria to make it more responsive to the challenges of investments, fundings and digital Technologies in our educational and learning management systems.”

In his remarks, the KUST Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Alhaji Musa who is also the host, described this year’s involvement of the private sector and industry resource persons would pave way for better complimentary relationship between the academics and the industry which he hopes will open another turning point for all Nigerian universities .
The KUST VC, however used the opportunity to thank the state government for the provision of adequate funds to cater for all the accreditation requirements of the National University Commission (NUC).
Which resulted in the attainment of 100 percent full accreditation status of all programmes offered by the University.
