The mother of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero is dead.
The deceased is also the mother of the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero.

A source at the palace who confirmed the death, said Hajiya Maryam died bin the early hours of Saturday at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt after a protracted illness.

According to the source, arrangements have begun to bring the corpse for burial in Kano.
The deceased was a Princess and elder sister to the present Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
