A Magistrate Court sitting at Gidan Murtala, Kano has ordered for the suspension of the scheduled meeting between Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara and other Islamic Scholars till March 22.

The court presided over by Magistrate Muhammad Jibrin issued an order in that respect today Friday, March 5, 2021.
Daily Telescope recalled that a meeting was scheduled to hold on Sunday, March 7 between Kabara and other Islamic scholars to discussed alleged blasphemous statement against the personality of the holy prophet made by Sheikh Kabara.
However, determining on a case filed before him by Barrister Ma’aruf Yakasai, the presiding judge, magistrate Jibrin ordered all the parties involved in the suite to maintain the status quo fending the determination of the case before him.

Contacted, the state’s Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Muhammad Tahar Adamu confirmed the development, saying “the state attorney general and some lawyers have represented Kano state government at the court today and the AG has informed me that an order was issued by the court in respect of the planned meeting among the Ulama.
“So, the attorney general and commissioner of justice will brief us about the order after which we will make our stand known to public.”
On his part, the state’s Commissioner of information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who also confirmed the development, said “Kano state government will make its stand known as soon as the commissioner of justice briefed it on the content of the court order.”

Daily Telescope reports that Sheikh Abduljabbar was accused of alleged disrespect to the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW, his companions and some famous Islamic scholars.
Prior to the court’s directives, a meeting was between Sheikh Kabara and some Islamic scholars was scheduled to hold at Emir’s Palace on Sunday by 9am.
