Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has sacked Engr. Mu’azu Magaji as the Executive Chairman of the state NNPC/AKK Gas Pipeline Project and Gas Industrialisation Committee.
Consequently, the governor has directed Magaji to handover the affairs of the committee to his deputy, Sarkin Dawaki Babba, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan’agundi.

This is contained ina statement issued by Malam Muhammad Garba, the state’s commissioner of information.
This is the second time in less than three years the governor is stripping Magaji of his political appointments.
Daily Telescope recalled that the first sacking was in 2020 when the controversial Magaji was relieved from his position as commissioner of works and housing following his unguarded comments over the death of late Abba Kyari, former chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Accieding to the statement, Magaji was accused of poor performance and insurbodination.
Magaji was appointed to chairman of the committee in April, 2020 with a mandate to supervise the effective execution of the project.
However, the statement indicated that the former works commissioner has failed to live above board in carrying out the responsibility assigned to him.

“His leadership of the committee, which is to among other things, to coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective,” said the statement.
The statement said the governor directed Magaji to hand over the affairs of the committee to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba Dan‘Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba.
