Palpable fear has gripped some communities in Gwarzo Local Government area of Kano State following report of presence of armed bandits in some major villages of the area
It was gathered that residents of Getso, Kutama and some other neighboring villages are now living in perpetual fear as a result of the report that the hoodlums were seen moving in and out of the areas.

The military had already deployed its personnel to Gwarzo and other neighboring villages in readiness for any eventuality according to the spokesman of the Nigerian Army 3 Brigade Kano, Capt. Njoko Irabor.
He told newsmen in Kano on Wednesday that the Military and other sister security agenciesbin the state are on top of the security situation in Kano and there is no course for alarm.
“You know we are doing routine security operations in and around Kano together with our sister security agencies and our men are everywhere as such no course for alarm,” he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Gwarzo Local Government area in Kano State, Engr. Bashir Kutama has ordered restriction of vehicular movements from 11pm to 5am in all parts of the LGA as part of measures to enhance security in the entire LGA.
Kutama, who gave the order at a stakeholders meeting on security, said the measure was aimed at securing lives and property of the communities in the area.
The council boss also directed traditional rulers in the LG to establish Security Watch and Elders Committee in their respective domains to enhance security in the LGA

He commended security operatives working in the area for the successful arrest of criminals, recovery of dangerous weapons and ammunition from hoodlums recently.
Also speaking, the District Head of Gwarzo, Alhaji Kabiru Bayero, stressed the need for the state government to adopt proactive measures in tackling crime and criminalities in society.
