2023: Don’t bring back Kalare thugs to Gombe, politicians warned

Date:

Gombe state governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has warned politicians in the state to be cautious of instigating violence in the state, warning that “you should not bring back Kalare political thugs to Gombe.”

According to him, the state government would fold its arms and watch criminal elements to the name of politics disrupt the relative peace that is being enjoyed in the state.

He vowed to deal with any groups or individuals, be it a Senator or a member of the house of representatives working against peaceful co-existence or manipulating the political system to foment trouble in the state.

He said, “No senator is bigger than the governor. I will not allow such to happen in the state under my watch. If you allowed Kalare boy (thugs) to roam free during your time, this is my time, I will not allow that”.

The governor stated this during a courtesy visit to him by the Chairman, Council members and Stakeholders from Akko Local Government Area (LGA) today.

He urged youths in the state to be cautious in dealing with politicians whose goal is to destroy them and destroy the state.

The governor equally warned traditional leaders in the state to stay away from politics and support his administration in developing the state.

Governor Yahaya warned that “peace is essential and fundamental to cooperate existence. As a state and as a nation without peace, no development can be achieved, so I call on all and sundry to eschew bitterness and leave in peace.

“Whatever successes we have recorded so far is in line with our campaign promises, and we shall continue on this path of repositioning the State, but this cannot be achieved without peace,” the Governor said.

He warned that the law is blind and will catch up with anyone no matter how highly placed they are, empathising that his administration will not condone any act of lawlessness.

Speaking earlier, the Emir of Akko Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, stated that the visit was to say thank you and to appreciate the state government for approving the reconstruction of the general hospital in Kumo, the headquarters of Akko LGA.

He said that the people of Akko are more than grateful for the gesture which according to him has a high impact on their lives.

He, however, assured the governor that the crisis which was recorded during the Sallah celebration in the LGA would happen again. He said, “It was a misunderstanding and we have warned those involve against reoccurrence”.

Daily Telescope gathered that a clash between a group of youths suspected to be supporters of Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje and that of Usman Bello Kumo was recorded during one of the Sallah Durbar by the Emir in Kumo.

Rumor has it that the heated political rivalry between Goje and Kumo who are both members of the national assembly from Gombe central senatorial district and Akko federal constituency is gaining more grounds as Kumo who contested the senatorial seat and lose to Goje in 2015 is said to be set to replace Goje who had announced his retirement from contesting elective position.
