The Gombe Emirate Council will hold durbar processions as part of activities to mark the Eid el-Kabir Sallah Festival.
Several Emirates and States across northern Nigeria have announced the cancellation of durbar processions, as part of effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The federal government had recently put six states and FCT, Abuja on red alert following reported Delta variant in the country.

However, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, held processions with hundreds of horses to the Eid ground, near the Gombe main market.
Daily Telescope gathered that the durbar will hold at the forecourt of the Emir’s Palace, immediately after two units prayers at the Eid ground.

Our correspondent reports that traditional title holders, palace courtiers wore colourful attires, thrilling residents of Gombe metropolis who line-up alongside major streets to catch the glimpse of the monarch.
Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya alongside members of his cabinet have joined the Emir at the Eid ground for the two units prayers.
