Sallah: Kano Emir sues for peaceful co-existence

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

The traditional ruler made the call when he received Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and his entourage who him paid Sallah homage at the palace today.

Bayero appealed to the general populace of Kano to redouble their efforts in praying for peaceful coexistence in Kano and the nation at large.

He applauded the effort of the Kano government for the giant strides in the areas of education, health and agriculture among others.

“We extended our appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for uplifting the standard of Education, Health and Agriculture,” the monarch said.

The Emir had earlier observed the two rakat Eid-el-Fitr prayer at the Kofar Mata Eid praying ground after which he rode on a horse accompanied by the District Heads and other traditional leaders through the routes of Kofar Wambai, Charanchi, Zage and finally terminated at Gidan Shettima where he exchanged pleasantries with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Earlier, in his sermon after the two rakat prayer, the Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Mohammad Sani Zaharraddeen called on the Muslim faithful to uphold the teachings, values and moral lessons learnt during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Prof. Zaharraddeen urged the Muslim faithful to live in peace with one another and also extend hands of fellowship and good gestures to the needy.

According to him, “Let’s continue to pray for peaceful coexistence and end to insecurity.”

Meanwhile, the two rakat prayers were also observed in the four other Emirates of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano.
