The Former Defence Minister, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Badaru, on Monday in a show of force led hundreds of Kano Business Community to formally receive Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State into APC.
Governor Yusuf was officially received into the APC at a ceremony held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano on Monday.

The grand event was attended by the Vice President Kashim Shatima, National Assembly members as well as the national chairman of the party, among other prominent personalities.
Badaru dressed in a white attire with President Tinubu symbolic cap, came into the Sani Abacha Stadium, venue of event though in company of Vice President Kashim Shatima but with his business associates following behind.

The crowd of the business community that supported the former Jigawa State Governor to the venue, clearly showed his spread of friends and well-wishers beyond his Jigawa enclave.
The former Defence Minister who sat behind the Vice President Kashim Shatima on the sitting arrangement, was however seen acknowledging cheers from many people who attended the occasion.

Badaru was in Babura Jigawa State Local Government late Saturday where he was received by thousands of supporters in a show of solidarity.
Recall that Governor Yusuf had on Monday 26th January 2026, along with 22 members of the state Assembly, eight House of Representatives members and 44 local government chairmen defected to All Progressives Congress.
