Despite a court order restraining the National Working Committee of the Peoples’ Democratic Party from dissolving Kano executives of the party, the NWC has dissolved with immediate effect the State, Local Governments and Ward Executive Committees.
Recall that an Abuja Federal High Court presided by Justice Taiwo Taiwo on Tuesday gave an order stopping the dissolution of the party executives from the state, local governments and ward levels.
The dissolution of the Kano executives came a week after Kano PDP stakeholders called on the party national headquarters to dissolve the party executives loyal to Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.
However, a statement issued on Tuesday by PDP National Organizing Secretary, Umar M. Bature on Tuesday, confirmed the dissolution.

The statement read in part, ‘’Following the recent developments in the Kano State Chapter of our Party, the National Working Committee (NWC), after careful deliberations and extensive consultations, on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e ), dissolve the State, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees with immediate effect.
‘’In the same vein, the NWC has approved the appointment of the Kano State Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the Party in the State for a period of 90 (ninety) days from today, March 29, 2022, Pursuant to Section 24(2) of our Party’s Constitution as amended in 2017,’’ the statement said.

The statement said the membership of the Kano State Caretaker committee are, Alhaji Ibrahim Atta, as Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu Dan’Iya as member, Hajiya Ladidi Dangalan, member and Aminu Abdullahi Jungau as member
It said others are, Mukhtar Mustapha Janguza as member, Abdullahi Isa Sulaiman as member and Barr. Baba Lawan as Secretary.
