The Kano Electricity Distribution Company has commended the Kano State Police Command for apprehending six suspected vandals of the electricity distribution company at various locations in the state
The Managing Director of the Company Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf made the commendation when he received the Kano Commissioner of Police, Hussein Gumel who paid him a courtesy call at his office on Tuesday.

Yusuf said the Nigeria Police Kano Command has exhibited professionalism by apprehending the vandals who have been vandalizing KEDCO installations which resulted in shortage of power supply.
”We appreciate what the police are doing and insha Allah we will continue to partner with the security agencies to overcome the issue of Vandals among other challenges.

The KEDCO Managing Director appreciated the CP’s visit and vowed to sustain the cordial relationship.
In his remark, CP Hussein Gumel said the purpose of his visit was to commiserate with the management and staff of KEDCO over the recent fire incident that occurred at Dan’agundi transmission substation over the weekend.
He solicited for more power supply at all nooks and crannies of the state to avert any evil plan by criminals, especially at places that were dark during the night .

”We have deploy more security personnel to be on ground at many places within the metropolis because of lack of electricity on the major places, and usually criminals take the advantage of lack of electricity to plan evil, we will not allow that to happen, ” he said.
The suspected vandals were currently being investigated and as soon as the investigation was concluded, they will be charged to court.
