Katsina Assembly passes revenue consolidation bill into law

Katsina State House of Assembly has passed into law the state revenue consolidation and modification bill 2021.

The bill scaled its third reading shortly after the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Hon Lawal Yaro (Musawa), presented it for the third reading.

Earlier, in his submission, Hon Yaro stated that the law seeks to harmonise all collectibles revenues in the state with a view to implementing the Treasury Single Account (TSA) in the state.

Lawal Yaro pointed out that during deliberation on the bill the state Board of Internal Revenue was invited to brainstorm and come up with reliable taxes and levies in the state.

According to him the taxes and levies which had been In existence for a long period of time have been reviewed upward to confirm with the present realities.

Announcing the resolution, the Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Maigari directed the clerk to forward a clean copy of the law to the state Governor for ascertain.
