The outgoing Kano State Police Commissioner, AIG Salman Dogo Garba has been commended for successfully managing the complex issues surrounding the Kano emirate tussle when he held sway as the state police commissioner.
The Deputy Police Commissioner in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Abubakar Shika made the commendation during the send off ceremony organized by the Command for the outgoing CP at the Police Officers Message in Bompai Kano on Thursday.

“When AIG Dogo assumed duty as the Comissioner of Police in Kano State, there were significant security challenges, especially the resurgence of thuggery (Daba) and the complex issues surrounding the emirate tussle.
“However, through his exceptional leadership and strategic approach, he successfully managed these challenges, maintaining peace and stability in the state,” DCP Shika said.
He said AIG Dogo further demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of officers by spearheading the distribution of motorcycles facilitated by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, a gesture that greatly boosted the morale of our personnel.
He noted that AIG Dogo has been able to serve the Kano State Police Command with unwavering dedication, professionalism and integrity.

“Under his leadership, we have witnessed transformative changes that have strengthened our commitment to public safety and community engagement.
“His vision for safer Kano, coupled with his proactive approach to crime prevention and community policing, has set a benchmark for all of us in policing.
“This may perhaps be the reason why the good people of Kano State nick-named the AIG as “Dogon Aiki” , said.
In his remark, AIG Dogo stressed the importance of continued collaboration and partnership to maintain peace and ensure the safety of all residents of Kano State.

He expressed his gratitude to all members of the Kano State Police Command and the community stakeholders for their support during his tenure.
Highlight of the event include presentation of awards to some police officers and community stakeholders in recognition of their invaluable contributions in enhancing security, promoting peace, and resolving conflicts within Kano State.
