Kano State Deputy Governor, Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna on Saturday led the State Government delegation to the funeral of Late Hajiya Umma Bayero, a sister to former Emir of Kano, Late Alhaji Ado Bayero and the mother of the State Chief Judge, Justice Nura Sagir Umar which took place at the Emir’s Palace, Kano.
Late Hajiya Umma Bayero, aged 88, died on Friday, 27th August 2021 after an illness.

While delivering the condolence message after the funeral, the Deputy Governor said..”On behalf of the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the good people of Kano State we are commiserating with you over the death of this great woman who contributed immensely to the development of the State.”

“The death of a mother cannot be compared to any loss, because of her role in the family, the vacuum will be difficult to fill.

“However, we are offering our deepest sympathy to the family and the Kano Emirate Council and pray to Allah to give them strength to cope up with the great loss and grant the departed soul Jannatul Firdaus,” he said.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hassan Musa Fagge made available to newsmen said the delegation comprised of Commissioners and other senior government officials.
