June 12: Group condemns planned protest by some organisations

Date:

A Civil Society Organisation, Northern Reform Organization, has condemned plans by some organisations to stage a protest in some cities across Nigeria with the intention of asking President Muhammadu to resign.

This is contained in a statement issued by the organization’s secretary, Alhaji Mahmoud Adnan Audi, on Friday in Kano.

Audi advised all law abiding citizens in the country to disassociate themselves from actions that might plunge the country into unnecessary crises.

“We call on the organisers to follow democratic procedures to achieve their objectives, we also call on security agencies to be on alert,” the statement said.

On activities on Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), the organization also appealed to the youth to stay calm and be patient and avoid acts capable of breaching the peace.

He also called for peace, unity and harmony among Nigerians.
