INEC Online Registration: Kano to raise sensitization committee for citizens in diaspora

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje f Kano state has said that the state government will raise sensitization committees to enlighten its citizens in diaspora to ensure participation in the exercise.

The committee will equally reach to Kano indigenes living in other states of the federation, on the need for effective participation in the online registration exercise.

This is contained in a statement by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and made available to newsmen in Kano on Friday.

Anwar said Ganduje made this known during a stakeholders meeting with party leaders at state and local governments levels, legislators, commissioners and chairmen of the 44 local governments, among others, at Government House, Kano on Thursday.

“For our state to maintain the status of being the state with highest number of members of the ruling APC in the country, a state that gives more votes to winning party in the country and for the overall democratic development, we just have to readjust and participate fully in this online registration exercise.

“Kano being the state with the highest population in the country, there is every need for us to stand up and show to all that Kano is still the largest democracy in the country. We produce highest number of votes during elections. We need to maintain that,” Ganduje said.

The governor directed all local government chairmen to go back to their respective areas and re-introduce points created during the registration of National Identity Cards, for another utilisation of the same facilities in INEC online registration.

“I am also directing our local government chairmen to make sure that they form stakeholders committees from Ward up to local government levels that would look into INEC online registration exercise. This is a task that must be accomplished,” he said.
