The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has charged officers and men of Nigeria Police to exhibit high sense of professionalism and shun all forms of abuse of the law.
The IGP gave the while Addressing officers and men of Kano Command of the Nigerian Police Force at the Headquarters of the Command in Bompai Kano, today.

He described Kano as one of the strategic commands in the country, especially with regards to the high population and commercial activities in the state.
He said that the Nigerian Police under his stewardship was working tirelessly in ensuring that all needed working materials and ammunition were provided to the police formations nation wide in order to ensure security of lives and property of citizens across the country.
”Iam using this avenue to call on divisional police officers to be organizing lectures and trainings to police working under their formations as this will boost their morale and dedication.

”We are working towards ensuring that all rank and files personnel of Nigerian police are being issued with uniforms free of charge, but you should take note that you have to make sacrifices to improve your job and improve your self,” he said.
The IG appreciated government and people of Kano state for their continuous support to the command.
Usman Alkali urged officers and Men of the Nigeria Police Force to remain steadfast in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
Earlier in his remark, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Sama’ila Dikko said Kano state is a cosmopolitan state with growing population.

According to him, the state command has only over seven thousand personnel which are providing security to over fifteen million estimated population.
He expressed serious concern over inadequate operational vehicles and shortage of manpower and urged the IG to address the issue to enable the command tackle the numerous challenges bedeviling its smooth operation.
