A trained health worker, Abubakar Kamarawa has explained how he treated the notorious bandit, Bello Turji after he was injured in the head three years ago.
Kamarawa was speaking to journalists on Monday when he was paraded among the 54 suspects arrested by the police in connection with banditry in Sokoto state.

Kamarawa, who own a pharmaceutical shop at Kamarawa Village in Issa Local Government Area of the state, said he was introduced to Turji by his friend Musa Kamarawa.
“Musa took me to Turji when he was shot in the head some years back. Musa took me to Turji in his camp and treated the injury he sustained in the head,” he said
“it was after this incident that bandits started coming to my chemist in Kamarawa Village for treatment whenever they were shot by security operatives. They also use to buy intoxicants, including pentaxocine injections.
“But I have repented since my first arrest and trial about two years ago. In fact, I have left the area and now reside in the state’s metropolis,” he said

On his part, Musa Kamarawa, who was arrested for allegedly supplying bandits with weapons and ammunitions, said, he has been supporting the bandits for many years.
“I have been supplying them with arms and just recently I bought a gun truck worth N28.5m for Kachalla Halilu, a notorious bandit operating in Sokoto and Zamfara states
“The car was bought from Libya but it was one man in Niger Republic who brought the car into Nigeria and my brother, Aminu Kamarawa delivered it to Kachalla,” he said.
Musa Kamarawa, said he had been working for the bandits since 2018.

Another suspect, Samuel Chinedu told journalist that he has been supplying bandits with Pentaxocine injections at the cost of N18,500 per injection.
He said he was arrested at a hotel in Sokoto while waiting to collect some money from Abuakar Kamarawa.
