The Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on Thursday flagged-off a total of seventy kilometer roads across 10 communities in the three senatorial districts in the state under the State Government’s Rural Access Roads programme.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Rijiyar Gwangwan and Mil Goma in Dawakin Kudu Local Government area of the state.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony, Gov. Yusuf said the Construction of 14.7 kilometers Mil Goma-Yankatsari and Gwangwan road networks would improve socio-economic activities in the communities.
He said that the 14.7 kilometers which would gulp N2.6 billion.
Gov. Yusuf said the road projects when completed, would link the benefiting communities to the local government headquarters and the state capital.

He said the State government had decided to open up the rural areas in fulfillment of its campaign promises for the socio-economic development of the rural areas.
“The two locations out of the 10 are set to enjoy the various road networks have been allocated with 14.7km out of the total of 70 km.
“The road projects are going to be executed in partnership with Islamic Development Bank and Lives & Livelihood Fund through the Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project under Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority,” he said.
Gov. Yusuf said his administration is determined to executive life changing infrastructural development projects for rural communities in the state.

“A total of over N11 billion is earmarked for the seventy kilometer rural access roads and road networks in semi-urban areas.
“In Dawakin Kudu where today’s flag-off took place, 7.2km rural access road for Mil Goma to Yankatsari and 7.5km Rijiyar Gwangwan road networks respectively are expected to cost N2.6 billion only.” Gov. Yusuf explained.
