Date:

Islamic Scholars in Kano have expressed satisfaction with the Upper Sharia Court judgment which sentenced to death by hanging, an Islamic cleric, Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara

Recall that the Upper Sharia court on Thursday sentenced to death by hanging the Islamic cleric, who was charged with blasphemy against the personality of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad SAW.

One of the Islamic Scholars and Chief Imam of Al-Furqan Juma’at Mosque, Dr. Bashir Aliyu expressed delight over the judgment passed by the Shari’a Court.

Dr. Aliyu, who spoke to Daily Telescope on phone, said: “The judgment is a welcome development and we are happy that the truth has finally  prevailed.”

Also speaking on the issue, the Chief Imam of Triumph Juma’at Mosque, Sheikh Lawal Abubakar said the judgment was in order.

He said: “The court has done the right thing at the right time. This is the right punishment set aside in the Islamic Law for whoever commits such an offense.

“So, as far as Kano Islamic scholars are concerned the verdict is in line with the provisions of Islamic Laws, therefore we welcome it in totality.

“I hope this verdict will serve as a deterrent to others so that nobody can commit similar offenses in the future.

On his part, the Leader of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bidah Wa’Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Kano state Chapter, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan commended the judge for the judgment.

Prof. Pakistan, however said: “Although we will never celebrate any bad thing that happen to any Muslim brother, however, we will not accept anything that diminishes the integrity of the Holy Prophwt of Islam, Muhammad SAW.

“It is unfortunate that the person involved in the case is an Islamic Scholar. So, I want use this opportunity to caution Islamic Scholars to always guard their utterances especially while dealing with anything that involves our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.

“We should always be guided by the teachings of Islam while conducting our preachings; we should try to emulate the good virtues of Islam as taught by Prophet Muhammad SAW, his companions and those that follow their footsteps.

“My prayer is that this judgment will serve as a lesson to others especially Islamic Scholars so that no one should joke with anything that concerns the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.”
