The Borno state government has relaxed the 24 hours curfew imposed on the state to allow Muslims faithful observe Juma’at prayers in the state.
The review is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso in Maiduguri on Friday.

Earlier, the government declared 24 hours curfew in the state to prevent infiltration of Boko Haram/ISWAP elements into the ongoing nationwide hunger protest.
The curfew was imposed after an IED attack on Kawuri village on Wednesday and parts of Maiduguri on Thursday which claimed several lives with injured many others.
The statement reads in parts: “Inview of the prevailing security situation. the Borno State Government and heads of the state Security agencies after due consultation have relaxed the curfew imposed in the state from 12pm to 3pm to enable Muslim faithfuls to observe Juma’at prayer.
“However, members of the public are advised to observe the Juma’at prayers at Mosques closer to their communities.

“Furthermore, the curfew will continue to be enforced from 3pm today ,Friday to 6am on Saturday, thereafter, people are expected to go about their lawful businesses and cautioned to shun all forms of violence.”
The security agencies assured the good people of Borno State of adequate protection of lives and property for sustainable peace and safety in the state.
