The Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has denied entering agreement with leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP for decamping of its members in the state after the Supreme Court verdict.

Sarina, however, said although the APC is always open for any interested politician that is willing to join the party, “but for now there was no such agreement between APC and NNPP. They are in NNPP and we are in APC.
“We have a government at the federal level and they have a government at the state level. Of course, in politics anything can happen, but for now there is no such agreement. APC was in existence when they left PDP and joined another party. So, there is nothing wrong if tomorrow they decide to join APC. It is allowed in democracy.
“After all, they have already exhausted the juicy part of their four year tenure because they have spent about a year in office now, so what remains is one and a half years because by 2027 which is the fourth year, we will be talking of general elections.”

The secretary also said although the opposition party has accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court in good, however, that would not stop the party from criticizing policies and programmes of the NNPP-led government if they did not tally with yearnings and aspirations of people of Kano.
He said as the laws of the land stipulated after Supreme Court, there was no other provisions by the laws where the aggrieved would take their case, therefore, the APC had rest its case for now and would focus on other political engagements that will it stronger before the next season of elections.
“We have accepted the verdict in good faith and congratulated the governor over his victory, but we will continue to monitor the activities of his administration and where necessary we will criticize him objectively and we will commend him where he did well. Ours is to ensure that Kano is developed under APC or any other party,” he concluded.
