The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf in company of his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo and other top government functionaries ushered in new year 2024 amidst pomp and pageantry in company of mammoth crowd at Mahaha Sports Complex.
Speaking at the occasion, Yusuf said the year 2023 must be reckoned with as the people of Kano voted for the NNPP to pilot the affairs of the state acknowledging the contribution of youth and women during the elections period.

He said the year 2024 would be of massive physical and human development projects that have direct bearing on the lives of people of the state and in tandem with the commitment to spread the dividends of democracy in the nooks and crannies of the state.

“The state will witness massive physical and human development projects in the year 2024 which will have direct bearing on the lives of the citizens of the state, ” he said.
He added that his administration will complete structures at Mahaha Sport complex to serve as a centre of entertainment, social and religious gatherings apart from sporting activities which is the primary focus of the complex.
Governor Yusuf reiterated the zeal to project sporting activities for the teeming youth in the state and other sectors for rapid socio-economic development of the state.
He appreciated people of the state for the support and cooperation accorded to his government hoping for the sustenance of the tempo to forge ahead in taking the state to greater heights.
