Kano PDP faults calls for Secondus’s resignation

The Kano State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), has condemned calls for the resignation of the embattled national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus.

The State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi made the condemnation at a news conference on Wednesday, saying that the chapter has distance itself from the calls of resignation of the National Chairman.

”We are in support of the national chairman of the party as he has not done anything wrong to warrant calls for his resignation,” said.

He said the party is aware that some members of PDP are forming an alliance with the ruling party APC to create crises within the PDP in Kano state and at the national level with the aim of destabilizing the party so as to prevent the party from winning the 2023 general elections.

According to Sagagi , Secondus can either be removed by the national convention or if he chooses to resign on his own.

“The defection of some governors and other leaders is not the fault of Secondus, noting that such defection happens from time to time in all political parties from 1999 till date, ”Sagagi added.

Recall that a group under the eagis of Coalition of Northern Democrat, has asked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Secondus to resign so as to save the party from total collapse.
