All Progressives Congress Support Group, has exonerated the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin from any blame for the cancellation of the appointment of one of the Directors of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority.
There were insinuations against Senator Barau Jibrin that he was behind the cancellation of the recent appointment of Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso as one of the Directors of HJRBDA.

Kwankwaso’s appointment was said to have been cancelled by the Federal Government for undisclosed reasons.
The development did not go down well with him (Kwankwaso) and some of his supporters, who went on social media accusing the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, as the brain behind the alleged cancellation.
However, reacting to the speculation in a statement in Kano on Sunday, the President of APC Support Group, Dr. Tijjani Danmai Kirki, exonerated Senator Barau Jibrin from the blame.

“Senator Barau Jibrin has nothing to do with the cancellation of the appointment because he is not privy to appointing anybody and he has no such executive powers,” he said.
Dr. Danmaikirki added that, “In any case appointment and or review of it is nothing new to Government, because after appointing a person, a Technical Committee would be set-up to reexamine his suitability or otherwise”.
“And in the case of the appointment of Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, the same technical committee worked on his appointment and saw that he is not an Engineer by qualifications and place in question required a qualified Engineer or Technicianto manage”.
He said, “With this, we didn’t see where Barau Jibrin comes in. Don’t forget that was how they accused him of sacking a Former State Minister of Housing, which was done unilaterally by President Tinubu after receiving a performance report”.

He noted that after the review of the appointment of the Directors of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, another suitable person from the same Kano would be appointed, so there is no qualms.
The group, therefore, cautioned politicians against unnecessary creation of bad blood against people who are innocent just like the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin.
