The ongoing nationwide hunger protest commenced today is peaceful in Sokoto state, Daily Telescope, reports.
Hundreds of youth in the state took to the major streets within the state capital as early as 8am as part of the nationwide protest.

The angry youth converged at Gadar-Alu around 6am and matched towards Sokoto state government house chanting various songs and carrying placards with different inscriptions.
The protesters stopped over at the Government House roundabout where the heavily armed policemen stationed at the junction prevented them from accessing the road to the sit of power.
Few minutes later, the youth matched towards the busy Emir Yahaya road singing various songs expressing their grievances.

Daily Telescope reports that some hoodlums who penetrated into the crowd had vandalized and looted the fencing materials that recently put in place by Governor Ahmed Aliyu-administration.
Although the protest was not violent, however, heavily armed mobile policemen were seen patroling major routes designed for the protesters to pass through.
Daily Telescope reporter could ascertain where the protesters would end the protest and whether the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu will receive the protesters at the government house.

Meanwhile, the nationwide hunger protest had crippled business activities in the state, as shops, filling stations, restaurants, shopping malls and other places of business did not open today.
Daily Telescope also observed that commercial vehicles and motorcyclists otherwise known as Achaba rendered only skeletal services within the state capital.
