BUK Extends Students Registration By 2 Weeks

Date:

The Management of Bayero University, Kano, has announced further extension of the students registration period by two weeks, from Sunday, July 21, 2024 to Sunday, August 4, 2024.

According to a statement on Saturday signed by Lamara Garba, Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, said the extension followed the recent loan approval to 8,530 students by the National Students Education Loans Funds (NELFUND) and appeals from parents, guardians, philanthropists, and the President of the Students Union Government.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, congratulated the beneficiaries of the NELFUND scheme and assured that the management will encourage more students to enroll in the scheme.

The university management appealed to students, parents, guardians, philanthropists, and state governments to utilize the extension period to pay registration fees, enabling the university to deliver the academic session successfully.

“This extension provides a welcome relief to students who have not yet completed their registration, and the university’s management is committed to supporting students in accessing education,” the statement said.

One month after the commencement of the registration, many returning students have yet to register for the 2024/2025 academic session due to the current economic situation in the country.
