Senator Bashir Lado announced the gesture at the presentation of awards to winners of competition held at the Meena Event Centre in Kano on Tuesday.
“And perhaps the most inspiring of all, thanks to the generosity of Qatar Charity, these young stars (winners) have also earned full scholarships, up to the university level. This is not just a gift; it is a gateway to knowledge.
“Let this be a reminder to us all that education is a pillar of faith, and these children are now blessed with the chance to grow intellectually and spiritually.
“And so, as a symbol of our appreciation, the four crown winners are being awarded homes,” Senator Lado said.

He also disclosed that all the crown winners have been fully sponsored to perform the lesser pilgrimage (Umrah) stressing that this is not only a noble gift, but a spiritual journey that will mark their hearts forever.
“May this journey to the House of Allah purify their hearts, elevate their ranks, and deepen their connection with the Qur’an. May it be a source of barakah for their families and an opening for greater nearness to their Lord,” he said.
But let me offer a word of caution, especially to the parents: these gifts are not just rewards — they are responsibilities. Let the houses shelter the children. Let the tricycles and motorcycles serve their future. Let the scholarship fulfill its purpose. And let the cash gifts be spent with care, wisdom, and sincerity — not on extravagance, but on that which uplifts the lives of these young Qur’an bearers.
To every mother here, your sacrifices are not hidden from Allah. If your child has recited the Qur’an, know that on the Day of Judgment, you will wear a crown of light, and your child will intercede on your behalf. To every father, your leadership matters. Protect this trust.
“Today, we gather not just to celebrate, but to reflect on the power of the Qur’an, the sacrifice of parents, and the endless mercy of Allah.
