Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, says the withdrawal of policemen attached to the commission is a sign of corruption fighting back.
Addressing a press conference today in Kano, Barrister Rimin Gado said the Policemen attached to the commission always exhibit high level of professionalism in discharging the duties.

The Chairman, therefore, said the withdrawal of the policemen did not come to him as suprise, as according to him whoever is fighting corruption he/she should expect this to happen.
“If you are fighting corruption and you step on toes and you would not be forgiven. This shows the corruption is fighting back. It appears there are some people trying to stop the commission from discharging its work,” the chairman alleged.

The chairman commended the Nigeria police authorities for clarifying their position on the withdrawal which was hinged on personnel audit.
He, however, assured that said the development would distract the commission from discharging its duties as Anti-Corruption agency, saying “the recent development will rather strengthening the commission in the corruption crusade.
Rimin Gado, who stated that the commission will continue to learn from its past mistakes, stressed the need to amend the law establishing it to provide for specific roles to the police and other law enforcement agents in the commission attached to the commission.

He said about 100 court orders were served on the commission asking it to stop investigation in high profile cases.
It would be recall that the Inspector General of Police has ordered for the immediate withdrawal of the policemen attached to the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
