The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, Ahmadu Tijjani Abdullahi has assumed duty as the 23rd Commissioner of police in the State
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, a copy of which was made available to The Punch, said that CP AT Abdullahi assumed duty on Monday.

“Sequel to the promotion of Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Effiom Emmanuel Ekot to the substantive rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and his subsequent redeployment to the office of the National Security Adviser Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
“The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, has approved the appointment of AT Abdullahi as the new Police Commissioner for Jigawa State,” he said.
CP AT Abdullahi psc was born in Kano Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C3/ 92) and trained at Police Academy, Annex Kaduna, from 1992 to 1993.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy Administration (MPPA) in 2005 from Bayero University, Kano.

He served as Patrol and Guard, Divisional Crime Officer, Divisional Traffic Officer, and Divisional Police Officer in various Divisional Police Headquarters in some states of the federation including Kebbi and Katsina State Command respectively among other positions he held.
Before his new appointment, AT Abdullahi was Commissioner of Police, Procurement Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The new Commissioner of Police attended numerous professional courses, seminars, and workshops which include but not limited to the following;
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Kaduna State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Ogun State Command and Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Procurement Force Headquarters, Abuja among others.

“With this wealth of experience, strategic plans, and commitment to collaborative efforts, the Jigawa State Police Command is confident that, under the leadership of the new Commissioner of Police, the security situation in the state will improve significantly.
“The CP solicits maximum cooperation, support and collaboration with Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders and other Relevant Stakeholders to partner with Police in sharing Intelligence gathering for combating crime and criminality within and outside the State,” the statement said.
