Kano state government has exempted judiciary personnel from the stay-at-home order earlier announced.

A statement issued by the State’s Commissioner of Information, Malam Muhamad Garba indicated that exemption became necessary in view of the need for the continued administration of justice.
It could be recalled that Kano state government had on Tuesday directed civil servants to stay-at-home following an upsurge in COVID-19 cases in the state.

Garba said that following the development, court proceedings and other legal matters would not grind to a halt across the justice system.
“All courts will continue to serve justice in the society, while lawyers and law firms will continue to provide services for their clients,” he added.

He, however, pointed out that in line with public health advice, the state Task Force on COVID-19 has asked all judicial staff to obey the laid down of COVID-19 protocols in the interest of public safety.
