The Kano State Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) has shut down Green-olives Hospital, Gadon Kaya area in Gwale local government area of the State over professional misconduct and poor services.
This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Abba Dalha and issued to newsmen on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the closure of the facility followed a petition received by the Agency that the facility had recorded two death cases in the last six months.
“After thorough investigation, the agency found that the hospital neither undertook proper investigation nor issued consent form to patients before conducting a surgery.
It added that the surgeon was found to be doing the task of anaesthetic nurse, peri operative nurse and assistant surgeon which is grossly unethical.
The statement said that the surgeon was not inclined to any speciality of surgery as one of the recorded death was a Paediatric surgery to three-year old child, while the second death was Obstetrics and gynecology surgery.
“The agency will deal with the culprit in accordance with its guidelines and appeals to people to report quacks and professional misconduct for appropriate action,” the statement added.
