Gov Inuwa Constitutes 10-Man Advisory Council

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has constituted a 10-man Governor’s Advisory Council, to assist in developing and implementing policy initiatives.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the policy initiatives are aimed at promoting economic growth, combating poverty, unemployment and other socio-economic challenges facing the state.

He said the advisory council will be chaired by Professor Idris Mohammed, a veteran academic and health policy expert with extensive experience spanning decades in Nigeria and overseas.

Misilli noted that all the honorary advisors, who are people of proven integrity and have reached the zenith of their respective careers, “are expected to bring to bear their individual expertise in their various fields of endeavors in the task of facilitating the consolidating these gains of good governance in the state for a secure future.”

The statement listed members of the committee as; Dr Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, retired Federal Permanent Secretary and former Head of Civil Service in the state, Malam Muhammad Kabir Ahmad, former Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Micah I Jimeta, Professor Fatima B.J. Sawa, former provost of the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-kowa, Gombe state.

Others are; Engr. Sa’idu Aliyu Mohammed, Arch. Suleiman Mohammed Kumo, a former director with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Baba Yusuf, Engr. Abubakar Bappah, the immediate past commissioner of Works and Transportation and Dr Muazu Usman Shehu, the Director-General of Research and Documentation will serve as secretary.
