The newly appointed Sector Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano Sector Command, Idris Mohammed Lawal, has officially assumed duty.

This is contained in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Sector Command, Abdullahi Labaran, a copy of which was made available to The Punch on Wednesday.
“The assumption of duty by the newly deployed Sector Commander, Corps Commander Idris Mohammed Lawal, who officially took over the leadership of the Command on Tuesday, 8th October 2025, followed his deployment by the FRSC Management on Friday, 3rd October 2025, the statement said.

Until his posting to Kano, Corps Commander Lawal was the Zonal Head of Operations, RS1HQ Kaduna (Zone One Headquarters), where he contributed immensely to operational coordination and traffic management across the zone.
His wealth of experience and proven leadership qualities are expected to further strengthen the Corps’ drive toward achieving safer road environments in Kano
State.
Upon assumption of duty, the new Sector Commander appreciated the Corps Marshal and Management for the confidence reposed in him and pledged his total commitment to upholding the Corps’ vision of eradicating road traffic crashes and creating safer motoring conditions.

He further emphasized the need for collective responsibility, discipline, and synergy among officers and marshals, as well as collaboration with stakeholders to ensure sustainable success.
The officers and marshals of FRSC RS1.2 Kano warmly received the new Sector Commander and assured him of their full cooperation and dedication towards achieving the Corps’ goals in the state.
