The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the promotion of 16,634 teaching and non-teaching staff of both primary and junior secondary schools across the 44 local government areas of the state
This was contained in a statement by the Director of Corporate Communications of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Balarabe Danlami, a copy of which was made available to The Punch on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Malam Yusuf Kabir, announced the approval while addressing the issue of staff promotion, confirming that Governor Yusuf has also approved the payment of all financial entitlements arising from the promotions.

He explained that the beneficiaries of the promotion are 16,634 teaching and non-teaching staff whose promotion periods fell between July 2024 and July 2025.
“The beneficiaries of this singular gesture are 16,634 teaching and non-teaching staff whose promotion periods fall between July 2024 and July 2025,” the SUBEB chairman was quoted as saying.

The SUBEB Chairman expressed appreciation to the Governor for this significant gesture, describing it as part of the state government’s commitment to improving staff welfare and strengthening the education sector.
He further urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by demonstrating greater dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, in line with the government’s goal of improving the quality of education across Kano State.
