The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed no fewer than 3,542 personnel for a hitch free Christmas and New year celebrations in the state.
The figures are contained in a statement released on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, a copy of which was made available to The Punch.
“Apart from 44 divisional offices, officers and men were drawn from various departments and units of the command including under cover personnel to assist in providing adequate security around christian worshipping centres across the state, recreational spots, strategic places etc,” Abdullahi said.
He said in addition, operatives have been mobilized to work in synergy with sister traffic enforcement agencies for seamless and free flow of traffic while the festive season lasts.
Abdullahi warned miscreants to shun acts capable of causing breach of public peace as violators of the order would be arrested and prosecuted.
“As the Corps maintains 24- hour surveillance and protection of critical infrastructure across nooks and crannies in the state, miscreants are strongly warned to shun from causing breach of public peace as defaulters will be made to face full wrath of the law,” Abdullahi added.
