A head of this year’s Ramadan, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is set to distribute foodstuffs to 250, 000 households among his constituents.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Chairman, Publicity Committee Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadami.

According the statement, a total of 17,500 Households in each of the 13 out of 14 Local government areas of the state will benefit from the gesture.
The statement added that 22,500 households are targeted in Gusau Local Government area of the state.
The items to be shared among the beneficiaries include Rice, Millet, Sugar and Maize.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of the Main Distribution Committee, Alhaji Lawal Liman revealed that, the gesture targeted all constituents irrespective of their party differences.
He explained that a minimum of 1,300 beneficiaries would be drawn from each of 147 Wards of the state while the remaining beneficiaries will be drawn from local government headquarters.
He added that the gesture was aimed at reaching out to the less privileged constituents especially orphans, widows and divorcees.
Liman added that arrangement has been made that will enable the beneficiaries to access the items at ease.

He explained that each District will have a representative in the Local government distribution committee who shall be persons with proven integrity.
The Chairman maintained that Local Government Committees have been given three weeks to conclude enumeration of the beneficiaries in their respective areas of jurisdiction and submit their report to Zonal Committees for onward submission to the main committee.
